The Problem
The existing felt flat roof on a rear extension was failing with multiple patch repairs. The pitched roof above had worn concrete tiles with perished felt underneath. Water was entering both areas during heavy rain.
Our Diagnosis
On inspection, we found the flat roof felt had split in three places and the timber decking showed early signs of wet rot. The pitched roof tiles were sound individually, but the underlying felt had deteriorated past repair. Both sections needed full replacement.
Materials Used
The Result
Complete new pitched roof with breathable membrane and re-used concrete tiles, plus new EPDM flat roof on marine ply decking. Both sections now fully weathertight with 20-year guarantee.
"The previous patch repairs on the flat roof had actually trapped moisture, accelerating the timber decay. By stripping back completely, we could replace the damaged decking and install a single-sheet EPDM membrane with no joints — eliminating the weak points that caused the original failure."

"Brilliant job from start to finish. They found rot in the flat roof decking that the previous roofer had missed. Everything replaced properly, cleaned up every day, and the price was exactly as quoted."
