The Problem
A 1930s semi-detached house needed a full re-roof. The concrete tiles were original — nearly 90 years old — and the felt underneath had completely perished.
Our Diagnosis
From inside the loft, the felt was hanging in strips. Several rafters showed damp staining, though the timber was still structurally sound. The ridge mortar had failed in multiple places and the hip tiles were loose.
Materials Used
The Result
Complete strip and re-roof with modern concrete tiles, breathable membrane, and dry ridge system. Upgraded ventilation with tile vents. All flashings replaced with new lead. The roof now has a 20-year product guarantee on top of our workmanship warranty.
"Very professional team. They explained everything clearly, including why they recommended dry ridge over traditional mortar. The old roof had been patched so many times — it's a relief to have it done properly. The house feels warmer already."
