The Problem
A section of the school's flat roof had lifted during a storm, allowing water to pour into two classrooms. The school needed the rooms operational by Monday morning.
Our Diagnosis
The original felt roof covering had debonded from the substrate due to age. The storm peeled back a 3m x 2m section. Water had saturated the insulation layer beneath.
Materials Used
The Result
Emergency tarpaulin fitted same day to stop water ingress. Permanent repair completed over the following two days — damaged insulation removed, new PIR boards fitted, EPDM membrane installed. Classrooms back in use by Monday.
"Speed was critical here, but so was doing it right. We could have just re-stuck the felt, but the root cause was debonding from age. We replaced the damaged section with EPDM and upgraded the insulation, so this area of the roof is now the best-performing part."

"They came out within two hours on a Saturday. The temporary fix held perfectly over the weekend, and the permanent repair was done before the children came back on Monday. Couldn't ask for more."
